Tip #413: Shop the Sales
Look at every sale you find to see if you can get something on sale. Check the flyers in the mail and inserts in the newspapers. Call nearby stores to find out when the sales are. Check for sales online. If you cannot find a sale for one or more of the items you are looking at, shop anyway to get a reference price for the suggested retail price of the items you are looking for. Take notes at the tore and put yourself in the best possible position to recognize a sale item when you see it. Remember to try yard sales or garage sales. You may find extra remodeling or construction materials for sale and you can buy these for a song. Think about flea markets, which are excellent places to find home remodeling bargains including hardware and other great materials.
